Return to campus: how libraries will open on 8 March
From 8th March 2021 each campus library will open between 9:30am and 6pm, Monday to Friday but any visit must be pre-booked using the ‘Book a study space’ tile within My Brighton. This applies to both staff and students who wish to browse the collections and is in line with the current arrangements for click and collect.
Once a booking has been submitted and you arrive at the library before your allocated time, you must call the library helpdesk phone number to validate your booking so staff can enable entry into the library. All details will be provided at all library entry points.
When on campus and in libraries and computer rooms
Please follow the safety measures in place to keep staff and fellow students safe:
Please remember that if you can study at home then in line with Government and University advice you should not travel to campus.
Booking computer rooms
We will continue to support those students who do not have an appropriate study space at home by providing space for individual study. The following computer room spaces can be booked to use in the following locations:
The desks in these areas are suitable for general study as well as computer use and for the use of Microsoft Teams to support remote learning. These are all bookable via the Book a PC tile on My Brighton and you can book 2 x 2 hour slots per day. All rooms have printing and scanning facilities.
Click and collect service will continue
Our library service will continue to provide a range of closed access services, including Click and Collect, postal loans and freepost returns to ensure continued access to physical materials, in addition to an online enquiry service.
Online resources are available via your library subject guide and if you need advice or support in accessing these or other resources please do contact your Information Adviser. You’ll find their contact details on your subject guide or email library@brighton.ac.uk.
