The Library can offer you help with:

  • Literature searching
  • Finding and evaluating information
  • Finding and using images legally
  • Support for systematic reviews
  • Understanding referencing
  • Using EndNote

Each campus library offers one-to-one support via:

  • Drop-ins at the library helpdesks (for shorter enquries)
  • Bookable one-to-one appointments for in-depth help
  • Bookable group sessions if you would like to arrange a bespoke session for yourself and a small group of colleagues
  • Help via phone
  • Skype appointments

 Flexible one-to-one appointments

We offer a drop-in one to one appointment service from 8:45-19:30 every weekday during term time and from 12:00-3:30pm on weekends.

We recommend drop in one-to-one appointments if you are:
  • Starting your first assignment
  • Need an overview of how to search library resources or reference
  • Need immediate help
  • Need flexibility to fit around other commitments

Bookable appointments

We recommend booking an appointment if:

  • You are writing a dissertation or similarly lengthy piece of work
  • You've previously had a drop in appointment but need some further support
  • You need help getting started with EndNote

If you would like to book an appointment, please contact us in person, by phone or email. The details we need when booking are:

  • Whether it is a one to one or a group
  • What it is you would like to cover i.e 'Help with setting up an EndNote library' or 'my dissertation on...'
  • The date and time you are available.

We will try and book you in as close to your ideal time as we can although at busy times this may not be possible
